Vintage decoupage

The technique of "aging" caskets is liked by almost everyone. The effect of cracked shells, mesh-patterns of tiny cracks looks very archaic, aristocratic and elegant.

Visual aging can be achieved for any product. To do this, several layers of paint and varnish are applied, and it is even possible to change shades. Dark layers on the bottom and light layers on the top. When the varnish dries, the aging area is rubbed with candle wax. This gives a bright vintage effect.

Next, you need to paint the work area, dry it, rub it with sandpaper, and remove the dust. After drawing, everything is varnished again with a light varnish.

Tip: for the effect of aging, it is better to cover the corners of the product with dark varnish.

Provence

Light, cheerful colors, but with a worn effect, are characteristic of the Provence style. It is better to use white on dark wood. As a pattern they take plant motifs - with lilacs, lavender, daisies, lily of the valley, rustic fields.

Colors are taken milk, cream, olive, smoky, soft purple or mint. The floral motif should be delicate, excluding large forms. These are usually small wildflowers, tiny roses, grape branches and bunches. Cute farm animals, baked goods, pots and jugs can be added.

A casket or any container should preferably be rounded, with smooth lines, in a rustic style, without harsh details. White paint is applied in layers, sanded, achieving a "ragged effect", but in moderation.

Shebby-chic

According to the method of execution, shebby-chic is almost identical to the previous styles. It is characterized by a large baroque, a desire for abundance of patterns, light colors and a general "noble wear and tear". Even portraits, old photos, engravings and silhouettes are suitable for this occasion.

Muted tones, flowing patterns, tea roses, angels and sentimentality dominate the subjects are characteristic of chebby. All shades and lines flow smoothly into each other. Metal parts are treated with gold or silver paint.
