How to draw a train with a pencil: master classes with step-by-step instructions for children and novice artists

Drawing is quite entertaining and a great hobby. You develop fine motor skills, spatial thinking, imagination, learn to see many nuances and pay attention to details.

Introducing the train

One of the simple and interesting drawings is a train. There are many variations of its representation on paper. From the usual flat drawing, to a spatial model of the train. It can be steam, electric, high-speed, freight - all different types.

Children's train

Many children are incredibly fond of drawing. Their imagination is boundless, but some of them ask their parents to tell them how to depict this or that picture, figure. As practice shows, most often it is transport. But how to draw a train to a child?

Showing him how to do it is easy enough. After all, the structure is easy enough: a locomotive and several cars.

Engine case

First, we have to draw a cylinder. The base of the cylinder is a rectangle. Next, we will add an oval on one of its heights. Yes, so that the center line of the oval passed clearly through the corners of the rectangle on which it is located, and the figure itself was elongated relative to the height. Erase the extra straight line inside the oval and the future body of our train is ready!

Cabin driver.

It consists of a roof - a trapezoid and a square - the body. The roof should go a little over the cylinder and the size of the body corresponds to the height of the cylinder.

Pipes

On top of the cylinder, the pipes look like funnels and several rectangles.

Protective shields.

Under the engine, at the front of it, we draw 2 triangles - the frontal shield, and along it a rectangle, about to the middle of the hull, and a square - the side shield.

Wheels

Now you need to depict the wheels. Locate them at the same level relative to the ground and draw them under the entire locomotive, except for the shields. Draw horizontal lines through the center of the wheels, connecting each other at the end.

Carriages

After the locomotive itself, we add rectangles - cars - to the back.

Detail them, "insert" windows, wheels.

Finishing touches.

Set contours sketch, erase unnecessary lines and detail it at your discretion: draw spokes in the wheels, rims around the body, the grid on the shield, the windows of the cab driver, the railroad and much of what your imagination will allow.

Electric Train

1. Driver's cabin. Draw two rectangles. One larger than the other, place it in a horizontal surface and connect their visible corners with straight lines, you get the frontal part.

2. Train composition. From the large rectangle in the side opposite to the small one, draw 2 lines from the extreme corners. The upper line - horizontal, and the bottom - at an angle to the first.

3. windows. Draw 2 parallel straight lines on the frontal part and the side surface, making windows to the train.

4. Wheels. At the bottom of the side we will make notches for the wheels. They will be in the form of a trapezium. It is desirable to make them 2-3. Draw the wheels.

5. Detail. Erase unnecessary lines and outlines, round all corners, divide windows, add a road.

The train with cars

How to draw a train with cars can be described in a couple of steps:

A locomotive. Give the shape of the future locomotive - a rectangle with rounded corners and width. Separate the windows by drawing an arc just below the upper boundary, and divide with a line in the middle of the resulting figure.

Add a round headlight under the driver's cab and 2-3 shields at the bottom of the rectangle. Let's also draw a shield under the locomotive itself.

2. Wagons. On one of the sides we draw a wide trapezoid and divide it into 3-4 parts by vertical lines. Detail by drawing either windows if it is a passenger train, or vertical lines, but smaller if it is a freight train.

The train in motion.

In order to portray your drawn train, going on the rails, you need to take in his hands and rubbing paper.

Spinning wheels

Here everything is simple. Complement them with semicircles. Make arcs in several rows of different diameters and lengths.

Sharpness

Rub a small layer of pencil on the middle to the back of the train, a little beyond the borders after the end. Rub it all out with a piece of paper in the direction opposite to the movement of the train. Adjust the blurred parts a little with the eraser and lightly pencil over the erased boundaries.

Detailing the space.

This is not such an important part of the picture itself, but it affects the perception of what is happening on paper.

The railroad

How to draw a railroad with a train depends on the dimension in which you are drawing. If it is a simple flat image, there is no better way than to add a rectangle with vertical lines below the cars, representing the sleepers.

In the case of a three-dimensional representation, the railroad should come out from under the train itself, along the width of its wheels.

Sky

Sky in the drawing should depict cloudy, slightly blurred, in order to give the illusion of movement, smoky.

Steam exit

If you draw a steam train, then do not be lazy and illustrate the smoke, leaving the train.

Landscaping the surroundings.

Draw trees, grass. The best way to depict greenery is to "plant" it behind the train. For example, you have a locomotive in space projection. Consequently, the woods should go beyond the horizon.
